I've seen people on twitter argue about this a few days ago,can't find the tweets but regardless.People were saying that all those "I wanna live in a mountain village instead of the city and be self sufficient" takes are conservative in nature.
Anyone want to tell me more about that or is that bullshit?Also obligatory
Kinda in the sense that I always see right wingers fetishizing the whole rugged individualist "living off the land" thing without GUBERMENT freebies
And pushing the sentiment that an ideal world is one where everyone is atomized and self-sufficient. and I would say the problem with that is that, in practice, it only benefits the capitalist class and leaves everyone else out to dry
Just feels like a big cope that absolves you of pesky things like empathy or working with other people
