Nicaragua has broken off diplomatic relations with the Netherlands, claiming the Dutch are ‘interfering’ and ‘interventionist’. Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega accused the Dutch ambassador to central America, Christine Pirenne of speaking to locals as if ‘Nicaragua is a colony of the Netherlands’ during a visit to Managua on Thursday. He also slammed the Netherlands after being told the Dutch would not fund a long-promised hospital, broadcaster Al Jazeera reported. Nicaragua has been ‘faced with the repeated meddling, interventionist and neocolonialist position of the Netherlands’ , the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Earlier this week, the EU ambassador to Nicaragua was sent home and declared persona non grata after calling on Ortega to restore democracy. The new US ambassador has also been told he are not welcome.
Why it's thought there is such limited revolutionary potential
Basically believe that working class in the global north do not have rev potential in a sense, because they benefit from imperialism and the status quo
Settlers even though controversial and has some liberal a***ysis is a good primer to third worldism. Gives great historical examples of times when white communists betrayed black communists for capital

Since it is a quite controversial book, intentionally look for the dissenting opinions, read them, and see what you think
Are there any ideas within this in regards to what it would take for the first world working class to actualize its revolutionary potential
Third-worldists recognize that there are lumpen (lowest 'tier' of proleteriat, those the least developed in their class education, those who live in squalor / poverty) within the global north with immense revolutionary potential precisely because they do not reap the benefits of imperialism, and this is where third worldists say most work is done (e.g. homeless, migrant workers, etc)
Thirdworldism can be dangerous as a communist in the global north just do the fact you cna sit on your ass and not do anything. So this is why third-worldism is looked down upon
Thanks for the breakdown, this is extremely helpful esp the part about lumpen
Do you have any dissenting opinions on Settlers that you'd recommend - I've been meaning to read it and this is probably the final push I need to make it happen so it would be cool to have those dissenting opinions ready to go when I'm done
its a line threading through a lot of contradictions but in total a number of the masses of the first world benefit from the exploitation of the third world and have interests in protecting those benefits.
the resulting take is that the third world needs to be freed from exploitation in order to increase the revolutionary potential of the first world.
the second question is called "human capital". in short, exploitation in third world countries enriches the first world and impoverishes the third world. the third world will invest in the education of professionals such as doctors in order to develop their countries, but obviously a number of these educated professionals will move to the first world where they will be able to most likely experience better conditions. this movement of investment from the third world sadly then continues to enrich the first world and impoverish the third world leading to the cycle continuing.
don't really blame anybody individually for it, it's just the way this bs is set up.
good vid on summating it
This is very appreciated too, thank you

seems like India overextended themselves with operation Greenhunt and they’re on the rise again, still not at 2010 levels but i’m happy to see improvement. if their one beacon of light in the darkness of the future for me is the philippines and indian maoist taking advantage of the upcoming crises.
The Brazilian maoist are on a rise as well right now
In Brazil they just officially reconstituted their communist party in the last few months.

this one seems pretty good too and might be a bit easier read by john smith abstracting his book.
be warned that it gets into economic theory that gets pretty abstract so it might take a couple reads to get wth theyre talking about
