nah it is kinda funny because weininger was a self-hating jew to a extreme extent. he killed himself because he couldn't reconcile being jewish. even in nazi germany the propagandists were like "yeah this guy was a jew so he's a bad person - he just had some points....you know by accident". he influenced the very specific brand of anti-semitic fascism more than he influenced like fascism in general.

My school's been hosting Ukrainian refugees for some months now but I haven't talked to one until today. They did some sort of panel and there were these two professors saying the usual liberal s*** about the war then this refugee starts talking about his experience. So this is his part of the panel + s*** he didnt say during but told me in our convo afterwards.

The war had already started and some people he knew had gone to poland but he didn't think he'd need to move because he didn't live near the capital or donbass. He was anxious but life hadnt changed much, and he expected it to end quickly and not really impact him like in 2014 and the donbass civil war. Then one day they get told to go to a shelter cuz russian troops are coming, and its not until he reaches the shelter that the adrenaline wears off and what is actually happening hits him. He realized he only took a couple clothes and his toothbrush/towel. When the fighting stops and the army says to come back out the whole town is basically just rubble. His college and the dorms he was at are both gone and he can't go anywhere cuz his car is destroyed too. So he goes back to the shelter and cries for a bit then gets in the train hoping to get to Poland. While in the train he sees videos of men getting stopped on the border with Poland and conscripted in the army and he starts panicking. He figures he can just get off at Kiyv and take a plane to poland instead, but the train is stopped before kiyv, and he's like fuuuuck. The army guys eventually get to him and tell him to get off the train. They put him and a bunch of other guys in a minivan and off to the "base" or whatever. At this point he's accepted his fate and tries to mentally prepare but he bumps into one of his classmates who dropped out and volunteered right before the invasion. This guy tells him to stop bein delusional, and says for 200 bucks he'll pull some strings and get him out of service. So he pays him and surely enough he gets dismissed, at which point he learns about the program from our school and uses the last of his money to hop to here.
