What trade did you get? And how long as the process

I am a marine painter, they picked us off the street with minimal training but we learned as we time went on.

We have welders, fitters, pipe fitters, machinist, sheet metalist, painters, blasters, and sprayers.

Best way to get in is community college or through the union as a journeyman

I thought they considered doing the task in trade school experience. And they just start your pay off really low

Watch this video, if you have a good union definitely do this.

Our union is trash, but If we had one as good as the one in the video I'd drop out as a painter and become a pipe fitter

  • Idk if they pay weekly but warehouse or overnight security jobs

if you're okay with working IT, you can just get a certification in a week to a month depending on a few factors, and you can generally find openings based on that. It might not be the best job ever but it pays decently consistently and doesn't have a ton of background requirement beyond certification. you can also leverage it as an entry level into other tech positions or tangential industries depending on where you go from there

I know its bound to be different now, but I worked it 5-6 years ago and it wasn't too bad loading trucks in the warehouse. Shifts were only like 3-4 hours and if it was busy they would ask people to work a "double". Got paid weekly and by the end of the first year you end up w I think almost $2 in raises, with a 50 cent raise every year after up to a certain amount. I'd probably still be there if me and 2 homies didn't get fired for hotboxing otw to work one day

Why is getting paid every week such a big deal.
