she's wise beyond her years, the wise lone LGBT family member in my direct/closest family, so I think I'll write this since it's been on my mind. seems fitting around this time since so much negativity and comparison has been happening

She says to "enjoy things without comparison, and to try and enjoy things as they are, and let go of what things used to be. just be glad that this artist is being who they are."

I think this is applicable to Uzi-2016-cult, and the endless comparisons of current albums to last albums

all this goes to say, it's changed my perspective whether it's hearing Kendrick, Drake, Post, anyone - if it's for me, it's for me. if it's good, it's good.

moral of the story, be in the moment and enjoy the present :) always comparing and reminiscing when new eras arrive will only lead to disappointment. you will be happier being here now

yeah I was thinking about this exact thing yesterday at work @op

Why do humans feel the need to compare everything? Like everything. Find myself falling into this habit often with a lot of choices . Like obviously some things I guess easier to weigh pros vs cons but at the same time it really is okay to just.. not compare s***. S*** can just be two separate things and that’s okay. Reading my mind

you're exactly right. just let it be, be happy the artist is being themself, and let go of the past. missing the past will only bring sadness :)
