Regardless of your belief systems, both politically and religiously, it is undeniable that there is an immense amount of glorification of violence, hypersexuality, and negativity in the overwhelming majority of pop culture, in music, film, and literature.

It is incredibly refreshing to see an artist on the scale and platform that Kanye has pushing Christian values and tradition, even if his actions may walk back some of his words, or his words coming off misconstrued or half baked. It is amazing to have a voice reach out to the youth and guide them to anything, be it something higher than yourself, or just the ideas of serenity, sin, repentance, acceptance, forgiveness, and striving towards a better life.

As Kanye said in his Big Boy interview in 2019, one of the greatest things about Jesus Is King was not the music itself, but was just to have everyone around the globe even saying the words. There is a lasting impact, be it subconscious or conscious that sticks with fans and haters alike.

I am grateful to follow an artist who is utilizing his platform to speak his mind freely and in service to a higher power. I truly believe that if there is one undeniable fact about Kanye, it is that his intentions are good and pure, even if sometimes he gets lost in translation or f***s up in his actions. He truly believes in the culture, in the betterment of mankind, and contributing to something greater than himself. It is admirable and something worth praising, imo.

    That said,
I KNOW GOD BREATHED ON THIS, I KNOW GOD BREATHED ON THIS, I KNOW GOD BREATHED ON THIS, I KNOW GOD BREATHED ON THIS

Music has always glorified violence and hyper sexuality, and there have always been artist just as big as Kanye that also pushed Christian values in their music.

    This is nothing new.

Also, this post was made and intended to be talking contemporary artists and current timeline, not in the past. Kanye is arguably biggest artist on the biggest platform to be pushing this mission statement.

Country music, blues, gospel, and other forms of non-secular music have always been around, but they have never had the reach and the platform that contemporary artists do, especially one as large as Kanye.

You're right and Jesus Is King was actually much more scripture based than a lot of music from gospel artists themselves.

These are bad examples because Prince career took a pretty significant downturn as he became more religious and conservative.

Johnny was country yeah and country artist do but they also aren't crossover artist the way Kanye is. Country is a big genre but based in its lane there aren't many crossover hits so it kinda proves OP point to use it.

I’d say this coming from the #1 album in 90% of the world is pretty new
