lol people s*** on fadeouts all the time, and it's actually a cool way to end a track if it sounds a certain way. not everything needs to have an abrupt ending or some sort of summary in the end, and fadeouts can bring a lot to the feel of the track. it's not like it's the only formulaic trope in song history
