It's a fun song but it doesn't flow with the sound of the album.
The album is extremely eccentric and switches styles regularly. I think it fits just fine. Maybe the cheerful exuberance feels a bit too much to you? This is the same album that has Mushrooms and Roses and Oh Maker on each side of the manic "Come Alive" so I don't think Make the Bus is a glaring inclusion mistake at all

It sounds like an Of Montreal song rather than a Janelle Monae song.
