white woman's attempt at yellow magic orchestra from 1979. love the bridge but british accent is so grating
If we're just doing songs that are impressive but questionable taste wise (owing to Britishness)

!https://youtu.be/O6gEkfwozhEi like this a lot
i more meant the kind of music where you get everything you need out of it in one listen, and repeated listens only reveal its flaws. take the backing track out and the op song is some british b**** yapping about her imaginary japanese boyfriend for 4 and a half minutes.
similar to the term "one listen classic" but nobody actually uses that literally, only to sarcastically imply that people are lying when they say they listen to certain songs/albums

How about a ripoff of a better song that is still pretty good

I tend to feel this way about most songs I love on first listen lowkey
For me at least, the optimal reaction to have on a first listen to a song is confusion or like ambivalence, or just thinking it’s “pretty cool”, because it eventually gets its hooks into me over time
If I love a song out the gate I’ll only get bored with it / find flaws over time
