Two completely different Three 6 Mafia eras but they both sparked a wave of music that came after or hell, even decades later.

The synthesis of Hip Hop and R&B. Without this song, there is no LL Cool J gimmick, New Jack Swing, Hip Hop Soul, Neo Soul, Melodic Hip Hop, and quite possibly Sample Based R&B.

You can arguably hear all those sub genres in one element or another on this classic joint

same with funkadelic and james brown and a few reggae + disco artists

rappers before rappers (which funny enough the term "rapping" has actually been used since like the 60s in black music and even in some recordings, again such as james brown and funkadelic but even some jazz)

  • Literally all of Flockavelli
