how does that ruin a song for you
I wouldn’t say ruin and I don’t agree with op but as a beatmaker a lot of the “magic” or bewilderment of how a nigga made something left when I got into the original samples of s*** as an adolescent. It became easier to see how someone like Ye or Just Blaze or Dre makes what they do. Devil in a new dress or Touch The Sky for example that seems a lot crazier if a beat if they made that from scratch
But I don’t agree with OP that it ruins a song

This also makes from scratch beats like Can’t Tell Me Nothing f***ing wild lol
not ruined, but slightly disappointed...doesn't matter though the song is still a classic

i can see what you’re saying, but that isn’t bothersome to me, at least
Hip hop at it’s core is about great sampling, why the hate
a good sample flip always improves a song for me
I think a seamless sample flip where you can’t tell it’s a sample is something a lot of producers wish they could achieve. Like when I found out Flashing Lights uses a sample it blew my mind
imagine hearing any Tory Lanez song and not assuming it’s a sample
Imagine listening to Tory Lanez tbh
daft punk discography for a while
if i had known from the jump they were sampling i would've found it impressive but i really thought they were playing all those instruments and coming up with all those melodies
