Confirmed. Sony has made an offer. No decision been made yet
I'm sure journalists won't milk this every month when it'll take a good year before anything new comes out if it does happen

they really taking over on anime side as I knew they would so annoying crunchy roll, funimation, now this
Didn’t Miyazaki hate working for Sony or something on Bloodborne?
No he would never say that since Sony owns 15% of From Software
But the company had quite the clash with Sony during Demons Souls creation. With their president Shuhei Yoshida calling it a terrible videogame and restricting its release to only the eastern market (hence why it was localized much later)
Also many many times Miyazaki talked about how important creative control is to his games is. Which you may or may not interpret as critique against sony who owns the most From software game IPs

If they already have an offer laid out it definitely won't take a year. This will prob move very quickly should they choose to accept

I think Miyazaki commands respect now, I don’t think they’ll try that s*** with him
They def treat a lot of people like that though I’m sure, but Kojima and Miyazaki and others are different beasts
He was nobody during Demon Souls, it’s different now. They won’t f*** it up only because they don’t want to f*** up the bag most likely, not out of the kindness of their hearts or core beliefs or anything

I mean in the time it'll take for agreement, then the various trade commissions in every country like with bethesda/microsoft
I mean it took 4 months for the bungie one to go through I think and that was with Sony themselves telling the public they had intentions of buying Bungie
Idk if Kadokawa saying they're aware maybe means its not as close, though it's basically giving stockholders a heads up in essence

Miyazaki has friends at PlayStation and a good relationships with Sony. It’s probably Kodokawa that approached Sony to avoid a hostile takeover from that Korean company.
Also it’s on record that Shu (who refused to publish demon souls in the west) deeply regrets that. Japanese culture is different and thats probably why demon souls remake exists
Also Sony won’t have a monopoly on anime and manga after this deal. Kodokawa’s anime sector isn’t big and the manga sector would still be smaller than the company that owns shonen jump (dragon ball z, one piece, etc)

If you're talking about integration then yeah but I think the news cycle only cares about the agreement (and the regulatory fallout, should that happen)
