I thought they’d innovate on cartridges when I heard ps6 may have a handheld aspect
I knew they’d probably phase out discs but I thought it would be replaced with something innovative. Like maybe a PS6-custom compression algorithm that allows the games to fit on a small 32gb or 64gb cartridge
You niggas are lame as s*** and don’t stand for anything
Nigga work on games and saw this coming
Should they make a new format that is crack and changes reality ? Yes . Does Sony who got dvd , bluray , 4K bluray feel they need to do that as their competitors crumble ? No
This is our reality . Acting like complaining about it online isn’t going to do anything vote with your dollars
Games being digital is not the problem in a vacuum
My favorite game of the decade was a digital-only release for the first year until physicals dropped for the one-year anniversary
There is no reason that PlayStation can’t continue to do that, nobody is even asking for every single game to be physical upon launch
ITS THE SIZE OF THE GAMES
It’s really Stranger than heaven, Metro 2039, FF7 revelations, Mega-man dual override, Resident evil: Veronica, Pokemon Waves, Professor Layton world of steam, and gen ATLAS tbh
Gen atlas for me . On pc
Still need a collectors edition.
“there isn’t a format that can properly fit the size of future games and run well”
This is not an excuse for taking ownership away from people entirely though. I’m not crazy about digital sales, but there are storefronts that offer files you actually own that aren’t hidden behind DRM.
Paying for the right to use a license instead of an actual product is so insulting to the consumer.
Sony has the freedom to change their drm policy and update it to reflect the times . They fear what balances consumer friendly and piracy . The ps5 getting jail broken in past few months didn’t help

I don’t think we’re really disagreeing that much here about the bigger picture. I understand the legality of the situation and Sony’s rights to protect their content from piracy.
It’s also super obvious that consumers have no rights anymore, which has disturbing implications when it comes to controlling the distribution of media, information and so on. It’s reasonable to be concerned that everything you purchase can be taken away by someone else whenever they want.
