This band is from Oregon and they were highly influential as a group in the 70's for a loooooooooooooooooooot of musicians. One of the greatest example's of instrumentation-songwrititing-arrangement you could ask for. If you were on the bill with this band, pray you are half as good as this group.

The band was created by two bands being merged together, The Franchise & The Soul Masters. Discovered by Grover Washington this band was brought directly to the record company and mentored by the great Wayne Henderson to a fruitful contract with Fantasy Records.

This particular download has 8 album's. 2 out of print band lp's and one solo lp from the lead guitarist in the band who is a monster on rhythm & lead. His execution is flawless.

Sampled by a few hip hop act's & lot's of people were inspired by record breaks of this band. Pleasure was a big influence on one notable band 'Jamiroquai' In fact, this is how I was hipped to them. Jay Kay was raving about how important they were as motivation The sounds of Soul-R&B-Funk-with tinges of Rock Jazz and other styles make this band a fantastic group.

it is interesting how this if you did bring this into a r&b room they would tell you it’s too complicated.

this is what will happen and then that dept/label will make an excuse that instruments are irrelevant and when they show you what they want? what is it? some filtered loop not even 2 bars. usually a person who sings with little to no delivery.

but you take this to a white label and if they are white they are heralded like maroon 5 or justin timberlake. 😒
