NFTs for art really don't make much sense to me. Better used for s*** like resale of tickets or clothes or sum

yea NFTs for art kinda don't make too much sense. I think reselling tokens can work in certain contexts. the tokens need to have a larger real world significance.

web3 is pretty new tech, so it's a very valid idea to stay wary, haha.

It's like the dotcom bubble though. there were a ton of failed ideas that were shaken out of the ecosystem...and I'm sure there are a good amount of ideas that seem great right now that are going to fail as well.

the business model of web 2.0 is based on the users themselves being the product. web 3.0 is a potential buffer from corps selling large amounts of user data for free.

Post a pic of your p****

He's actually spitting yall are just slow

but yeah @op I find it annoying when all these artists complain about Spotify or Apple not paying anything and don't even do anything but talk
when alternatives like this and Audius exist that they ignore, or they can go direct to consumer with NFTs, or sell an album exclusively on their site for a month before it drops on streaming, and so on

    why are people like this?

funny that I would try to revive an old thread like this. it's actually a decent alternative to the existing streaming platforms. I think they need to work out the kinks.

  • damn @op thats crazy because i was the car today and sound.xyz is a groundbreaking music platform
built on web3 technology, putting the power back in the hands of artists and fans.

    for artists:
own your music: mint your music as nfts (non-fungible tokens) and keep 100% of royalties.
build a community: connect directly with your fans and foster a deeper connection.
sell exclusive content: offer limited edition tracks, demos, or merch through nfts.
participate in governance: help shape the future of the platform with voting rights.

    for fans:
discover unique music: find emerging artists and hidden gems.
directly support artists: invest in and own a piece of their success.
exclusive access: get early releases, bonus content, and behind-the-scenes glimpses.
join the movement: be part of the future of music ownership and community.

sound.xyz is more than just a platform, it's a movement. join us and rewrite the rules of the music industry!
    ready to dive in?

note: i used ai to generate the majority of the post, but i've been putting my music on here recently and found some success with the mints. it's a cool social media like system that rewards you for sharing music that you like. was wondering if anyone else heard of it and/or wanted to participate in music discovery outside of the traditional streaming platforms. i think for the most part that it is still label controlled but we'll see where it goes.
visit sound.xyz to explore the platform.
follow them on social media for the latest updates
let's discuss! what are your thoughts on the future
