couldn’t have said it better. so much soul in the first one. and it’s largely due to the r&b soundtrack.
but i would say even og space jam story was better. monstars stealing all the top ball players skills but missing MJ because he was technically doing baseball at the time is a clever premise.
The soundtrack is my only gripe with this. Although, I guess it is representative of the current state of black pop music

a movie for children can still be written well lion king, iron giant, wall-e, toy story, spiderverse. even the first space jam. and kids know this when they age because it has replay value. “it’s for kids” is a weak argument.

Watched the original again and it's definitely a decent movie. I would call it a looney tunes special more than this one tbh.
