See I'm not mad at you for that. Meanwhile, my theatre was full of grown men neckbeard soyboy types laughing loud asf at every single possible thing and clapping and trembling and getting hype and s***. Coming out the theater like "well, I hope this shows warner brothers that we want more movies like this!! Maybe a sequel!?"

Kinda makes me sideeye everyone calling this a "cult classic underrated kino" or whatever now lol. This is "before mom and dad split" kino, not a cinematic achievement

And I liked it quite a bit

  • The review by SilentDawn on Letterboxd is one of my favs, he captures it:

"Ate Twizzlers and Air Head Xtremes Bites while watching. Saw a lot of indistinct shapes and sounds clustered around the vibrant colorscape of a cameraless paint-bucket bedazzlement. I think John Goodman called a Ninja a 'nonja' but I'm not sure. Truly an achievement in rendering the presence of the lens mute to the point where frames woosh by like cotton candy. The Grand-Prix is Heavenly Art; a stain-glass creativity monument, complete with a Cooties Warning to boot."
