This was great. Technicals all were really strong. The score was a little nothing burger. I will say the credit song is the best in the movie oddly.
Story wise, I felt everything developed nicely. The interactions with MJ and Peter were very well done imo
Love how he had his mutations kick in after that like how Tobey's web block kicked in after seeing MJ get engaged in spider-man 2
love how it’s reinforced his powers are connected to his emotions
that flashback black box zoom in with May was 🤌🏾
whoever decided to shoot that scene and repeat it was
I think I might be on the side of interpreting the post credit as non actual and that it’s just displaying Peter on the f4 earth before the final incursion or Battleworld(ignoring the fact that it wouldn’t be able to report him because the 616 earth would be gone)
The interactions with Peter and mj were really well done imo. It was also toned well with the comedy. Not the usual overbearing comedy gags
Audience had a good reaction to jean. Im so excited for xmen. As long as they do it right. Happy they buffed her at the end. 33 feet my ass. That’s Jean grey. She can reach across the universe.
That hulk fight was great. That’s the hulk we want to see. Not halfway hulk not Dr. Hulk. Haven’t seen him since 2008
Some of the execution leaves something to be desired . She is absolutely soul less until she realizes others cope with dead loved ones too . Her development is kind of shells and her flashback which is the only scene with sister feels like it was last minute . The only moment we see of them together explaining her powers at a point where we already understand them
.
at least this distinctly felt like a spider- man movie though
the last 3 mcu ones absolutely did not
Somewhat . Again I wish there was more world building of specifically spider man elements of New York . Easily best of trilogy though just feels like 4 films in we should know more villains , side characters , businesses and friends . It doesn’t feel like he bas an existence outside of spider man which I her is the point but this applies to all the movies . I like raimi movies because he has a bullshit life like the rest of us . Him having a facial recognition system and getting the crime rate down feels more Batman . Feels like venom suit is next and he puts cops in danger some s*** . Trying to think of which villain is best for them to do next or storyline . Please no more mj or Ned in danger
“I’m both”

“No banner. Only hulk.”

Embracing all of the human experience . Recognizing he could channel his grief and loneliness
Jean is mean as hell yo lol

She’s got the framework to join the Brotherhood. She had the warpath that other marvel characters wouldn’t have if their loved ones was missing and then dead. Charles gonna have to rein her in, but I do hope it’s a preview to the edge the X-Men will have

I wish ol boy from XMen 97 wasn’t being a freak. Need him as a consultant at the bare minimum for the next live action movie
I liked all the Peter/MJ/Ned stuff and all the Spider-Man/Punisher stuff
Wasn't really feeling Jean Grey as the "villain" but I did like the actress and think it was good casting
Sick of these movies ending with therapy sessions/trauma bonding (Thunderbolts, Captain Falcon, this). I'm a simple man. Give me a big fight.
Overall, the best of Toms 4 though
Yeah I guess they been trying to switch up the superhero formula which I do appreciate
But I get it, they did it almost three movies in a row (with the exception of F4)
As for Jean, I guess they going for lost and broken child who eventually finds a home with the X Men
When Spider Man 5 has Fantastic Four and Daredevil yet he still has no job

Man she straight up let an innocent person get hit by a car
some hero she is

Its a step further than anti hero. Nearly feels like a more logical plan would be if she got kidnapped by DODC earlier in the plot with the goal of teaming up with her sister to break out. How it played out there is really no defending how she moved. Nor would I see them keeping her sister alive for them to reunite. I dont even get the point of william Metzger if he went down for it. DODC still exist but likely facing consequences for making a mutant situation worse. Jean got free now just super charged.
They pushed her sister too hard to the point of death to try to activate the place in the brain that can lead to jumping bodies. When in reality a non mutant would never be able to do that
F***ing loved this. I'm so glad they kept Ned and MJ bullshit to a minimum. I remember how everyone thought NWH was amazing.
That movie was a pile of used up s*** compared to this.
