I think dude just severely misunderstands MCU Spider-Man. The Peter Parker we watch throughout the Home trilogy is a work in progress. He is not the Peter Parker that they give us in the Raimi trilogy, he’s not even the Spider-Man/Peter Parker we get in the Marc Webb movies. These movies are his origin, they are the prelude to the Spider-Man we know from the earlier films and the comics. That’s why Peter in No Way Home is so adamant at first to just get the villains on their merry way back to their universes. This is why he runs straight to Strange when he becomes enemy number 1 in the world. He’s not the heroic and independent icon yet BUT he’s on his way. Throughout the trilogy we SEE him becoming the Spider-Man we know he’s capable of being, he’s just not there YET. Now with the way No Way Home ended, we see Peter with no one, not his Aunt, not his friends, not even the Avengers know who he truly is. He is alone just like how many audiences remember he was in the earlier films, lacking in a social life, run down apartment, and a self made suit. THIS is the Spider-Man we know, but THIS is what it took to get here. Not just being dealt a s*** hand like in the other movies but a direct consequence of his own actions and necessary choices that led him to the very place he is in now.

    Wow powerful

Why they walk through and towards a portal

Because they were curious. Wouldn’t you at least walk through a portal that you know clearly leads to a safe warm filipino household

It’s not an ā€œoriginā€ movie because we don’t see how he got his powers or any of the classic tropes of an origin story. First time we see Spider-Man, he’s established. He’s done all the practice web swinging, probably fought minor bad guys, hiding his identity, etc. All that s***. So technically it’s not an origin, not in the classic sense

ā€œ he’s establishedā€ he falls for mysterio trick then surely you would think he would learn from it . No he invites the villains to his place for a kickback

You know what I mean. Before his appearance in Civil War, he’s already known around NY. He’s made a name for himself, that’s how Tony found out about him

I think some ( not me ) feel many speaking down on the raimi films for years and being like ā€œ we don’t want to see that origin crybaby spider man loser ā€œ is why y’all are getting the pushback you are now . So I’m not going to pretend many mcu fans who with a straight face said homecoming was better than spider man 1 and 2 as MOVIES not comic accurate but movies don’t deserve this

I really don’t get when people say FFH doesn’t get spider-man at all. It’s literally a classic spider-man story, trying to balance what he wants with what he needs to do. Idc what anyone says the Watts trilogy has always nailed this character.

I’m sure there are (that’s not me) but what I’m saying is we def didn’t need the typical origin story again for the 3rd time and I’m glad we didn’t get it. The MCU trilogy had the benefit of the audience already knowing how Peter became Spider-Man, we don’t need to see that again. Much can already be inferred without having it put on screen.

Which is why I think it’s a good idea to pull back on that for this next set of films. Not every movie should he have to save the world… maybe just a borough next time lol

    Greatest origin of all time.

    • Helped Team Stark go against Team Cap, clowned the Winter Solider and Falcon, Fought CAP (earned his respect)
    • stopped his crush’s dad from spreading harmful alien tech on the NY streets all on his own, made the responsible call.
    • helped saved half of all life, fought in space
    • persevered through emotional grief, gaslighting and more to save London at the cost of his reputation & secret identity
    • faces the consequences of his actions, actions he took because his aunt may reminds him of the great responsibility he holds with his great power
    • lost, broken, everyone forgetting of his existence to keep the universe together, aunt may dead, poor, resetting his ged, having to get a job to keep up rent yet still remains Spider-Man and keeping a smile on his face… hope alive.

Mysterio potrayed himself as a hero.

There were no tricks played by the villains in NWH, they were very upfront with Parker regarding their ways

ā€œfor a kickbackā€ Great way of framing Peter’s intention of collaborating with the scientists to make cures for their conditions not at all disingenuous framing

    Raimi films didn’t age great

So many dumb decisions in that first movie that everyone overlooks because of nostalgia

I also did not like FFH, stakes were tossed out the window when I found out he was fighting little drones after have just seen Spider-Man fight aliens.

I was one of the few who wasn’t hyped to see old Spideys come back, it does nothing for me I’ve seen them already. Was more hyped to. See DD cause that’s a character MCU can use now. Wish they would’ve introduced Fantastic 4 instead.
