Last time I rewatched was before FFH but there’s was some bad dialogue and cringe scenes. Off top of my head is the Goblin attacking May scene where he yelled her to finish her sentence

As for decisions one main one is Goblin threatening JJJ to find who takes Spidey pics when it’s printed on the newspaper they’re photographed by Peter Parker.

I’d have to watch again to remember other character choices I found to be dumb but maybe I will rewatch

Well homecoming was more of a coming of age and plus they still travelled to Washington for like half the movie. I just want a classic Spider-Man ny movie.

Goblin wants her to finish it cause the line is “deliver us from evil” but “evil” just pulled up to her house. It’s goblin taunting her

Also the thing with the newspaper. I just skipped through Spider-Man 1 on my phone and there was no scene that showed the “photographed by Peter Parker” thing. I think they first did that in one of the sequels

I would argue FFH matters far more then Homecoming.

I mean MJ becomes the center focus love interest, Mysterio is the villain that truly brings the most psychological and physical torture to Spider-Man without proper back up from any other heroes.

Homecoming (while amazing) is much smaller in consequences and scope… and Spider-Man is literally saved by Iron Man in multiple instances. (Which is fine for then and there but if you really wanted to focus in on spidey’s independence FFH is a far better movie on that front)

far from home is very superficial as a spiderman movie. TASM2 is the worst made movie but FFH is virtually an unneeded filler movie. only thing that matters is MJ finding out he’s peter and mysterio exposing him in the end. nothing else in that movie moves me

I get what you’re trying to say and think it’s fair but they were obviously trying to do something different with the MCU spidey. They fully committed to a young high school Peter instead of jumping straight to college/adult arc like the other Spidey movies.

for me there was more substance to iron man saving peter because he’s being antagonized for trying to be more than a friendly neighborhood spiderman

yeah he was “independent” in ffh with edith, nick fury planning and sabotaging his trip lmao
