the Oscars are a televised industry banquet man... and primarily serve as TV show -- that has record low ratings these days. The cynical view is that a nomination for this will be pushed to boost ratings

The idea that Disney will "buy a nomination" is ummm stupid because that's literally what an awards campaign is game been played that way since day 1
