Thought this was just alright. Better than Jigsaw and Spiral for sure.

Still think Rigg being tested and dying bc he was reckless in wanting to save people is so dumb.

It's not that deep but he didn't seem like a bad person like a lot of the other main victims.

Yeah sadly that was a hella last minute change before they started the shoot, earlier drafts had Matthews in Rigg's position travelling around town getting into s*** to try and save his wife, but when they swapped Rigg into the lead role they had to rush to create a reason for him being tested which also fit with a bunch of the traps and s*** they already had

Maybe I’m a weird Saw fan, but I don’t care that much about how the punishment fits the crime with these traps. Like, I’m willing to allow Jigsaw to be a c***y b****, if for that trade-off we’re getting a cool, iconic ending. I don’t need him to be some fair moral judge. I see it as that his “code” is just an excuse for him to be an artist, anyway.

Yeah, plus I feel like there's a built-in inconsistency from writer to writer, arc to arc anyway in terms of where his code begins and ends - basically if I'm enjoying the movie itself and it works, then I'm totally fine with whatever.

A lot of good ideas here. Jigsaw is usually omniscient so it's nice seeing that underminded for a while. You don't have to have seen 8 other movies. The traps are still fun. The ending is ludicrous.

The execution, however, is pretty bad. The beginning is ugly. The drama is flat. No clue why this is two hours long. Sitting through the stuff between kills is more agonizing than the kills.

Haters done brought the damn score down from 81 to 79 lowkey pissed
