open world was the worst part of mgsv and every other game that wasn't built around it in the last 5 years
they really don't learn anything and i am not going to buy their product until it is discounted at >75%
If it’s MGSV like maybe we are in luck
Otherwise
Out
But seeing that’s it’s Ubisoft… probably out
MGSV wasn’t really for me, gameplay was great but because of the open world just felt like you were outside for the majority so kinda took away from feeling like MGS.
Open world makes it easier for them to milk the game for extra purchases and add-ons, but yeah I'm both very annoyed and completely unsurprised by the news
However, I believe the original builds of Conviction (anyone remember what THAT once looked like?) were also pitched as free roam but eventually narrowed down back to mission-based. Hopefully they'll decide the same for this one, though Conviction was also stuck in development for yeeaars
F***...
Splinter Cell Wildlands otw knowing Ubisoft
Anyone remember the difference between Double Agent for PS2/Xbox versus for X360/PS3? I remember how f***ing hyped I was as a kid to get a 360 just to experience DA after playing a demo at Best Buy (fucking daylight Africa mission lol)
The PS2 version was basically a Chaos Theory add-on (which I didn't hate but damn the 360 was a whole new experience, love it or hate it)
Why does everything need to be open world
why did every game need to be linear before now?
Confirmed I guess?
Ubisoft has greenlit the development of Splinter Cell remake that will draw from the rich canvas of the brand. Led by Ubisoft Toronto, the game will be rebuilt from the ground up using Ubisoft's own Snowdrop engine to deliver new-generation visuals and gameplay, and the dynamic lighting and shadows the series is known for. With more Splinter Cell on the horizon, Ubisoft News spoke with some of the developers that launched the original game 19 years ago and some that are working on the remake to find out exactly what set Splinter Cell apart from the Competition
Can’t wait to see how they f*** this up!
this was def only announced as damage control because of the nft backlash lmao
They are forgiven!

But MGSV open world was basura.
The gameplay was good, but the open world aspect was not its strong suit.

Luckily it’s just a complete remake of 1
Can’t wait to see how they f*** this up!
Can’t wait to earn enough EXP to unlock the split wall jump that I’ll only use twice
So this a remake of the original game on xbox huh? I remember how dope that looked and how the lighting and graphics were revolutionary at the time. I expect this nextgen version to look very amazing
So this will be a Ubisoft game?
And y'all hype? Alright
