I think the most bizarre part about the internet is people’s willingness to be not only wrong, but loud about it. A simple Google search will tell you that Apple Music has support for a higher quality codec/streaming quality than Spotify, yet, you’re doubling down on a wrong statement.

    Why?

Rent free bro . If ur audio engineer just do an ear test in a quiet room. U prolly listen to ur music off AirPods on YouTube tho .

I can't complain. Music is still cheaper than ever before

    Facts.

I remember dropping $21.99 before tax for a CD that you had to search for because it might be sold out…

Its arguable if music is cheaper than it was during the itunes era tho

$0.99 per song, no recurring cost and you didn't have to pay $20 to buy a 25 song CD that had 4 songs you actually liked on it

Plus you had datpiff for mixtapes

They have better quality than Apple

    They literally do not.

AM, Tidal, Qobuz & Amazon Music all offer better audio quality than Spotify.

Increasing prices for what? Have they released a single beneficial feature in years? Have they given us anything we’ve asked for?

Speaking of Spotify what’s the deal with their bullshit ass smart shuffle now? It’s the default shuffle

i made this playlist spotify. i f***ing made this s***. i do not want your recommendations. don't make that the default shuffle. i should not have to double tap shuffle for my own damn playlist cuz you want to recommend songs i speficially did not add to my own damn playlist F*** outta here.

Like does anyone believe that Spotify isn’t just throwing whatever the label wants at you under the guise of “recommendations”

I searched for that Sabrina espresso song. It sucked. I changed it immediately. Now I go play The Cure Radio and it puts that f***ing song in there! It’s nothing like The Cure! What is this

music is the only streaming subscription where the convenience you buy is actually worth the money. Id rather pay the $3 for my spot in my family plan than have to manually manage and tag all of my music files, not to mention being able to access AM + all my own files on any device I want.

Any and every tv and movie service on the other hand, you’re all actually cooked for paying a single cent for that s***. Literally just torrent it

its kinda wild how many people seem content to use spotify algorithm recommendations as their only source of music discovery

It’s also kinda wild how cool and interesting a recommendation algo could get had it been applied sincerely and refined to actually give you good music opposed to obviously just trying to forcefeed whatever gets boosted by labels for playlisting

i feel like they shouldn't be allowed to do this with how the economy is looking right now.

I never got rid of mine but there defintely are a lot of songs I have been bumping over the last 7 years i don't have

having stuff backed up locally is so nice though, i imagine once AI data compression gets advance enough companies won't even want to sell physical stuff either or if they do it will be like vinyl.. an overpriced collectors market that gets stuff months or years after the fact

you'll be stuck trying to screen/audio record if you want it without watching ads or paying or both in some cases

I paid like $3 for someone to upgrade my account to family premium on a shady site like 6 years ago and it's still working best $3 I ever spent

Thanks Cameron, Kelly and the rest for sharing your family plan
