Kinda surprised that it's being added so lately honestly. You can already create jams/listening sessions with random people. You've been able to see what your friends are playing while on Spotify. It's had a bunch of more social focused features on it for years. You'd think a chat/DM feature would've been implemented long ago.

Mine you, besides the playlist and jams stuff, none of it is really necessary and will likely not be used anyway.
