paying artist fraction of pennies and still can’t profit the industry is so fried like everything else

This was from April. It's all code for "reduce overhead" since they already take artists for all they're worth. Laying off a bunch of people does that

  • boobdylan

music streaming is way too cheap
should be tripled the price rn

also eliminate piracy by only making it doable for people purposely running outdated OS that's easily hacked and f***ed over.

eye tracking unblockable ads need to come sooner

Are you John Spotify of the Spotify dynasty? Who the f*** roots for the corporation in this scenario?

Streaming service bubble is popping. Charging people $12/month for all of the music in recorded history isn't (& will never be) a sustainable business model.

cant not mention that building your stance off of consumerist choices is a huge reason why people in the US and the west in general have no political or change-inflicting power. once capital owners figured that you can dupe people into moralizing what they spend their money on all hell broke loose. they know its pointless which is why they be raking profits while people are left confused and disorganized

okay i applaud you for the eloquent virtue signaling, but this doesnt address how you literally are doing the same thing even though you don't have to, which is the sentiment that's in the post you quoted. that was my point before that you refused to address. if you still use spotify, you're willfully part of the problem. you're a hypocrite.

and before you try this on me, i cancelled apple music last year and instead i use an ipod classic with a 2TB hard drive i installed MYSELF (i know this aint feasible for everyone but there are far more accessible options out there, im just a music obsessive) and can play any filetype i want via Rockbox software, and i use slsk or buy from bandcamp directly if i like the artist. i have literally 0 subscriptions to any of these garbage megacorp streaming services and if i really wanna see something on one of em i torrent it, and almost always never end up finishing it because it's trash anyway. last time i finished anything from netflix was cyberpunk edgerunners, and i dont even recall anything before that aside from that one series with jonah hill and emma stone dir. cary fukunaga. and i NEVER use postmates or uber eats and none of that (that's why i said "speak for yourself" in the post you quoted, because you said "we" like oh you speak french now? because im not included in that) because im not tryna get coronary heart disease so i cook all my own food and eat out extremely sparingly, and if i do it's at a small business, often black owned since i live in the atlanta area.

no im not "moralizing what i spend money on" because you might try that one on me too, i'm showing you how you can do the bare minimum too, and honestly be healthier, happier and save money for yourself and your folks, and contribute it instead to causes you care about, for example. yeah there's no way to live in a late capitalist society without contributing to its hegemony in some way, but at least i do what i can and don't act like it's all good/i have no choice if i don't do the bare minimum, unlike you. we need revolutionary struggle but until that becomes a feasible thing to do contributing to the buttressing of capitalist dominance in ways that i dont even f***ing need to isn't something i feel like i have to do, because well... i have a conscience.
