Favourite book - The God of Small Things. Recommend it highly. It’s a personal story of these characters within the indian caste system, and its interesting cos it doesnt have a traditional beginning-middle-end formula. Story starts in the middle and expands like a web the longer you read it

Honestly one of the best books I've ever read, got me into some more McCarthy but it's still the best I've read from him

It's definitely horrific at points, some of the descriptions made me physically recoil, definitely worth finishing though I'd say, I got part of the ending spoiled for me so I decided to finish it as quickly as I could, and it immediately jumped into my fave endings of any narrative work ever
