Got a chance to look at the beta gameplay and I dont think I ever seen a game as clunky as this before. Frame rate drops damn near every time something happens, they really gonna release this game in a month and not delay it?

  • Aug 14, 2020

They reuse animation and everything. The hulk buster armor literally is a clunkier bigger Hulk that uses the Hulks combos

  • Aug 14, 2020

I have my PSN linked to my Square Enix account. I confirmed my Square Enix account. I still can't access the beta. Wtf

  • Aug 14, 2020

I can't even open the link to check my linked accounts

    F*** Square Enix

  • Aug 14, 2020

Feel like skills take way too long to recharge

  • Looks like a game you’d play at the arcade

  • Aug 14, 2020

It is insane this is not a ps3 game man

  • Aug 14, 2020

So far gameplay feels clunky and transitions to cutscenes are weird but it isn't terrible imo it's only alright

They got a couple bugs that need fixing. The sound dips in and out. AI companions get stuck behind certain objects and won’t move until you change maps. No matter how far you move on the map, the AI companion will be stuck there until you change maps, like using an elevator or someshit. Also idk why they made it so you can’t play as another character in your AI party. I guess it would be MUA at that point if they did.

Think some of the bigger maps could use a minimap. The Jarvis guide thingy is a lil confusing at first. Took a while for me to get use to it. The AI companions are pretty good though. They are capable of defeating enemies on their own, you don’t have to baby sit them. Another problem is if you die, they can be a bit clunky trying to revive you. They’ll leave the circle to engage enemies. Only had a problem with this twice though. Usually they stay in the circle.

As for the gearing system... can’t speak too heavily on it since my highest lvl character is only lvl 6 atm so not much to choose from. But from what I’ve seen it don’t look like the gearing options change your appearance much. If they were gonna do it, they should’ve gone all the way with it like Injustice 2. I don’t like RPGs or games in general where the item equipped doesn’t change the appearance of the character.

For the skill trees, they seem pretty basic. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. I don’t know if they’ll limit skill points in the full game, or they’re more skill trees yet to be seen. As it is currently its looking like you’ll be able to get enough points for all the skills eventually as you level up. The game definitely becomes funner and more accessible as you unlock more skills.

The combat is ok. It’s an arcade beat em up type game. It’s surprisingly similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance, or Marvel Heroes Omega in a sense. Given the online component it feels like they’re going for the later of the 2. The characters feel kinda similar to each other, but not all the way. It’s because the control scheme for them is the same across the board. Like I wish they could rework the dodge mechanic. It’s the same for all characters even The Hulk. Ironman’s verticality makes him the most unique feeling. Black Widow I suspect is gonna be the blueprint for how Spider-Man is gonna play. Kamala Khan feels good. I feel like Luffy from OP sorta when I play her.

Enemies could use more variation. Along with more mechanics to combat. It’s very button mashy for the most part.

Overall it’s nothing to be blown away with. Don’t come in expecting this to be like God of War. It’s a beat em up. I am having fun with it. Ran a few missions with some people online. It felt good. Pretty chill game to just put on maybe play with some friends n f*** some s*** up.

  • Might pass on this

Glad I got blessed with a beta code. Don’t think I’ll be spending $65 on this game next month.

After playing more, the game is definitely fun but nothing extraordinary. Might wait for this game to be on sale

Probably the best option. This the kinda game that will improve with updates

  • Aug 14, 2020

Well my audio completely dropped during a cutscene so I have no idea what they’re talking about during this cutscene and my subtitles also went with the sound

  • Aug 15, 2020

Ehh yeah I might wait till this goes on sale. Not too impressed with what I've played so far.

  • Aug 15, 2020

Betas nice. Iron Man Widow and Cap gotta be the keepers for me so far

Yes when you unlock most of the skills, the combat flow is really nice tbh. Ironman & Kamala Khan are my top 2 easily. Widow 3rd, Hulk 4th. I feel like The Hulk isn’t tanky enough. You can sorta stay alive infinitely if you’re dodging and using the r2 trigger to replenish your health, but feel like he needs either more HP, or higher damage mitigation.

I somehow did a joint combo with Ironman and Black Widow. It was dope
