its very pretty....the guitar, the piano, the sax fades near the end. It reminds me of Swing maybe a bit too much but I'm in
I think Squid lost quite a bit of momentum with their last album (good but not great), but if anything that can be seen as a positive because now they don’t have the insufferable listeners that occupy most of the Black Midi and BCNR fanbases

and about those other two... rip black midi and i haven't been hearing much about BCNR since homie left...seems like they're on the road a lot tho, probably still tryna figure s*** out

Thing about squid is that they make basically the same music they did when they blew up. If any band is gonna be here long haul & consistent, I'd say maybe them?

This but Swing In A Dream is their best song now

BCNR will probably have album #3 out at some point next year, but yeah whether or not Isaac’s departure will greatly affect the band’s quality remains to be seen. The live album they released last year post-Isaac was decent but didn’t entirely move me either
As for Black Midi, def a bummer but I think each member will go on to do great things individually. Greep’s debut album is fantastic, one of the best of the year. Cam will have his solo debut out next year. Morgan will probably go on to work with several high-profile artists and begin staking his legacy as potentially an all-time great session drummer
Haven't listened to squid in a minute. Gonna relisten to their albums soon before this next one comes out.
Good, a new thread
Squid is great both studio wise and live
I honestly liked their most recent album more than the first

Honestly I'd rather just keep getting Georgie solo records than more black midi
Not really into them but will listen because the cover is cool
lol word it is cool to look at

word def agree with all of this, waiting to see what BCNR does from here. the second LP really sold me on them and then poof lol

i don't disagree there, The New Sound has stuck with me more than any of bm's records which i appreciate more from a technical standpoint than enjoyment

I like it all but overall the new sound is just an immensely well put together album. It's like a full ass experience, and the bonus 2 pack is so nice as an epilogue
