Loved Town Centre
New song is amazing.
Dropping with Warp Records gives me even more hope!
now all we need is the Black Midi album announcement (which should be coming soon since Greep said early 2021) & we’ll have the speedywundercore trifecta this year with them, Squid, & BCNR
Someone on here put me onto them cus theyre on Warp a few months ago, was that you OP? Cus if so, thank you for real. This single is f***ing great, i love the exaggerated Entertainment!-esque style a lot, but the specific song structure and production on this one is my favorite thing i’ve heard from them yet. This debut album is about to be something else
Black Country new road releasing soon, black midi might drop this year and now squid

It wasn't me, first time I talk about them here I think.
The debut album I'm looking forward the most for sure.

Oh f*** I think that was me, glad to see you checked them out

Black Midi is definitely dropping this year, Greep already confirmed it & apparently they played 8 or 9 songs worth of new material at socially distanced shows at the tail end of 2020
Sounds like Matt isn’t gonna be involved in the new one though

thank you sm bro, you put me on big time
the single is so good
i don't get talking head comparison
I only see RYM nerds saying this s***. They sound nothing like TH. I guess they’re trying to make a part 2 of the whole “BCNR is Slint” meme(which actually made sense) but they’re failing miserably. I guess if you have some sort of dance/art punk influence and a weird vocal inflection like David Byrne you’re automatically a TH ripoff

Squid are unique enough to be a not clone of anything. I guess due to oversaturation of post punk in last couple years that people automatically assumed your Talking Heads/The Fall clone since both David Bryne and Mark E. Smith are expressive and unique singers
its cool though 3 bands came from exact same place and sound completely different and are about to drop some best rock music people heard in years

That’s big facts. S*** reminds me of the grunge scene in Seattle and punk in NYC how all these bands played at the same venues and knew each other. It really feels like we’re witnessing a moment in music history
