Everything in this screamed prime Star Wars but story wise just leaned in too heavy on the Rebels stuff which was annoying

Now that I do think about it. George Lucas' original idea for the sequel trilogy was for Darth Maul to be the main villain as a crime syndicate leader fighting against Luke

I wouldn't be surprised if Filoni adds Maul in the story some way to kinda fulfill that vision especially with the nightsisters being involved

I think the action scenes looked a little goofy in the last Episode also but Episodes 4-5 were way better than anything else we've gotten thus far

yeah if they brought back Maul it would be in the almost 2 decades between The Clone Wars & Rebels when he was controlling factions of the underworld

Lucas wanted him to stay alive in the underworld till after Return of The Jedi, so then in Sequels he could appear as the villain, the big bad threat against the newly formed Republic but I don't see them brining him back after his end in Rebels

Darth Maul rising from the underworld is a fire idea, but him leading the sequels with the underworld might not have been as grandiose enough for a Star Wars trilogy.

I like that it's a new factions not just the old Empire and I also like how it would show the struggle of a democracy trying to rebuild after 23 years of Palpatine's dictatorship instead of just resetting the plot to A New Hope reboot like JJ did in the Sequels

George also wanted to get into how the force feeds on the Midi-Chlorians and was going to have some weird trippy Microbiotic fantasy plot I'm sure people would have hated, with gods/whills of the force

Overall give the season a B. The plot and story were good enough for my liking to keep me entertained. Action scenes, particularly lightsaber duels are pretty much the best we’ve seen since Disney’s acquisition. But that ain’t saying much, because I did find them to be a big improvement, they’re still sorely lacking and it’s inexcusable imo. Even if you read modern Star Wars comics like the High Republic, it depicts usage of the Force and Jedi in battle a whole lot more acrobatic and nimble than the s*** we’ve seen. It’s like these niggas got cement in their boots. Say what you want but give me the flashiness of the prequels over this s*** any day of the week.
