Feels like it is to some extent. I’m hoping this season isn’t some elaborate attempt to save that movie but if my assumptions are correct, it’ll at least make more sense than anything they attempted to do in that film. Hopefully, I’m wrong because I’ve grown tired of anything relating to those films and the saga in general really. They’ve hit the right notes in terms of fan service so far but I’d rather the implications of whatever occurs in this show to have far reaching consequences for the future of this franchise going forward rather than strictly serving as to tie up loose ends and fill plot holes.
