UltimaI feel like by the end of this generation it'll be on either one. A report came out yesterday that they're goal is to put game pass on everything. Low-key felt like Phil and the CEO of MS was saying this is the beginning of the end for the Xbox console brand.
Doubt they will get rid of the consoles anytime soon.
Their goal is to sell subscriptions. Consoles will help that. They will make a streaming stick for xcloud soon enough too.

mothershipGames that value cinematically over good gameplay are movie games to me
I tried to like GoW but the gameplay was bland as f***. TLoU plays like an outright movie
Death stranding is a good example of a perfect balance between story and gameplay. It’s movie-like without taking to much control from the players hands

Nah read the article they did. It sounds like they aren't really interested in consoles anymore since game pass is making a lot of money. They're goal is to move beyond consoles and get game pass on every console possible.

Doubt it. Just like you said their goal is to get game pass on every console. They will continue making consoles for a while here and they even said they are working on the next Series X.

No not every console. They want game pass everywhere. TVs, computers, where ever they can get it.
And I know what article you're talking about and they said those consoles won't come out for years. Plans can always change that.
