this topic has very little to do with Starfield when disc are a clear option still. If starfield was disc only it would make it infinitely less accessible

How many times are we going to circle back to this topic? Microsoft potentially getting rid of XBL subscriptions also has nothing to do with Starfield, a singleplayer title lol. This was an organic conversation.

I am saying how that would shift the console market. If they wanted to make a shift in the console market because the console war or make believe console war came up. Ownership and physicals would in no way change their console sales. If anything again a subscription service is helping them. You said they shouldnt even exist in europe and japan. I posted links showing they were doing well for their goals in europe and japan. You posted a link showing ps5 was doing better than them .

iirc the mods they get are limited but it'd be awesome to hear I'm wrong. I bought an Xbox copy for the house so it'd be sick if there was parity there.

I was responding to a user where we were discussing ps3 and whether it won against the xbox 360. I mentioned free online because the ps3 WAS free to play online. I didn't mention it out of nowhere. Also I would argue the 360 was better than ps3 but free online definitely gave ps3 a boost . Most ps3's didn't have backwards compatibility though

We were talking about why the console war got to the point its at now with the dumbass metacritic bombing or rooting against a game being good due to allegiance to plastic.

Yeah I don't have a disc drive lol . I have had battlefield 4 on disc but couldn't tell you where its at and to activate it I have to enter it into a launcher like most games anyway.

What does the PS3 winning out against the 360 have to do with a Starfield thread? You see why it's dumb as hell to be like "why are you talking about streaming being anti-consumer in a Starfield thread"?

you only read half the post because again we were discussing why people are rooting so heavily against this games success and review bombing, hating, spoiling. The same would apply to a last of us 2, final fantasy xvi ( to a much lesser degree) and many others. Games being exclusive leading to rampant console wars rather than cheering for the success of gaming. Which all has very much to do with starfield and the lead up.

the reason why your take is dumb is partly because on pc most games you even get on disc even try to get you to lock the game to an online account or launcher. Its becoming increasingly rare you can put in a disc on any console without a account its tied to this includes even consoles. Without data it is giving there or they can at any time obviously ban your ip , account or license to any game by nature of their EULA. Most games cant be played in full without access to online especially without day 1 patches or patches that make the game infinitely more playable with less crashes or bugs.
