I understand their frustration. I was in that same place just a few months ago.

Just an ignorant gamer thinking when I played FF16 I was going to get an RPG. It sucks when your expectations are shattered like that.

My final thoughts are that it’s a solid character action game that has a lot of highs but just as many lows.

The pacing can throw you off and is one of the biggest complaints from most. Many of the side quests are lackluster until the end game. The game is pretty easy even if you don’t equip any of the accessibility stuff. There are virtually no impactful RPG elements in the game.

On the good side the voice acting is great, game looks and runs great on graphics mode even though it’s 30 fps. I didn’t have any problems with that. Plenty of spectacles as far as boss battles and cutscenes go.

Combat is hit or miss. You might like it you might not but it seems to satisfy most people. Only major issue with it is the lack of difficulty and engagement outside of boss fights.

Just me personally I have it between like a 7 and 8. I don’t regret buying or playing it but I wish it was an RPG which is what I expect from FF.
