That’s the thing that I think makes the conversations feel so stilted.

The fact that NPCs never look away from you, they’re just staring at you the entire time.

Never was able to think of what it was but I think you might be right tbh. They looked most natural talking to each other in the cutscene when you step into the lodge for the first time

It's good that the NPCs eyes actually look around while you're speaking to them this time though. That's a good start
