Xbox really wants to kill off physicals asap

Not just Xbox. The rumor last year was Wal-Mart is killing off ALL physicals this year, starting with Xbox. Looking to be true

But why PlayStation and Nintendo as well?
I’m aware that physicals on Xbox sell worse than on those platforms.

Physicals used to be the best square foot per dollar in retail stores. Now it’s not even close. Barely anyone buys physical in the USA. People have pivoted to digital. Walmart wants to move to selling accessories and digital products there as it’s more money for them now a days. It’s some upper management retail s*** where they would rather have that huge space where the physicals are with other stuff that actually sells. And Xbox is first due to the least amount of sales I think.

Writing is on the wall sadly. PlayStation shipping with optional disk drives. Xbox ftc leak upcoming digital only series x. Future of physical is gonna be optional disk drives and direct to consumer physical purchases, probably limited run physicals. All console manufacturers want this. They make way more money on a digital purchase

Cutting off access to physicals through the biggest national retail chain is absolute insanity. One less option (and a big option at that) for the consumer..

And what does this mean for Switch 2? It seems pointless to print more physicals in the future now that stores are getting rid of them.

No idea what it means for switch 2. One of the rumors was the dev kit doesn’t even have a cart slot but there’s differing reports on that. But I’m sure there will still be physicals for a while but through Amazon or direct to consumer.

There could be two models of the switch 2. Digital and cart. Then I see them probably phasing it out for switch 3

The only scenario that would make me get behind a digital-only future is if they get rid of paid online multiplayer.
With how console gaming is becoming more homogenized with PC, it’s absolutely dumb to be paying for online whereas PC gamers don’t have to.
Of course we know that’s never gonna happen cus the platform holders rely on those subscription sales.

I didn’t finish it either, something about those artifact missions where you had to float in a dark room irked me. Like what in the world does that have to do with conquering space?

you can skip like all of those btw, each time you get a cute new bonus power like the Dragonborn shouts but they’re not necessary at all and I don’t use them much lol

it’s something that’s fun to do maybe once or twice a playthrough and that’s it, and there’s no real reward for getting all of them, other than having all these unnecessary powers

Is this game worth getting if I’m not a Bethesda fan? I’m very critical of the game play mechanics in their games. Extremely clunky, and overall just lackluster and uninspiring. I heard you can play this in 3rd person which would be my preferred way (big reason why I haven’t gotten Cyberpunk), and I just finished reading a sci-fi novel, and I wanna act out my fantasies. So is this worth getting?

Absolutely not

I pirated this game when it came out for early access, I don’t think I made it past a couple hours in progression, this game bored the f*** out of me

Nothing was captivating about it compared to Skyrim or even Fallout 4

The one thing I could really praise about it was the gunplay and combat, it felt really fluid compared to their earlier work

Nah, it’s worth it if you already have gamepass to try it but honestly i wouldn’t buy it now for more than 20 bucks

this is a super Bethesda title. I love it for that but I cant suggest it if you are not a fan of that

3rd-person perspective looks fine, but you can’t switch shoulders for the camera.

games deserves cyberpunk level turnaround but it’s bethesda and they’ve already said that space exploration is meant to be dull

If a part of the game is considered dull by the actual devs it shouldn't be in the game in the first place
