what a beauty. I'm more of a vintage rolex fan, but man do modern rolexes look magical. I might get myself a hulk if the grey market prices weren't so damn high.

Rolex GMT Master II 16710

My dad raised me with this watch on his right wrist. Now it's been passed down to me, with all the scratches and dings my dad has put on it throughout the years. It was produced in my birth year, something that makes it that much more special to me.

I've been on many trips with this watch and it's such a pleasure to have on the wrist, not too flashy and can take a beating. This is a rugged watch that you can wear and not care about babying it too much. I love traveling with it because that's what it was made to do, it was made for Pan-Am pilots in the 50's who needed to keep track of different time zones as they did their flights.

The fade of the bezel and the patina of the lume makes it age like fine wine. It's a watch that will never leave my collection and will be passed on to my first born like it was to me.

Is speedmaster reduced worth it? Saw a comparison, kinda significant difference. Wanna put mine on a Bundt strap

Issue with the speedmaster reduced is the movement can be expensive to service but my friend has a v2 one with the newer bracelet and i like it a lot 38mm chrono is rare

yeah they're really good values too. i think 39.7mm FOIS second hand is one of the best deals out there rn. Omega makes good stuff I'm trying to sell my seamaster soon but i'll end up with another one eventually

Its from this guy who does custom seiko mods. Would you say its considered corny since they look like other watches or do they get a pass as homages?

The top one is definitely more corny out of the two. Kinda lame to just mimic another watch when you're in the drivers seat and get to design your watch.

I also think paying someone else to mod it for you kinda defeats the purpose. At that point I'd just save up some and get a cool limited seiko or something.
