First time buying a microbrand, but I decided to get a Brew this past week. I really like it thus far. Really good quality for the price range.

Oh yeah? Haha that’s cool man. My IG algo is filled with him and Brew watches now but hes definitely making a surge especially from being a microbrand. Cool watch tho especially at the price point. I saw idris Elba rocking the metric in an interview the other day.

Of course. This is the Seiko 5 SNKP21J. They also have a smaller dial version with an integrated bracelet. Bracelet is pretty low quality so I recommend swapping it for a nato or canvas. Other than that it’s Seiko and absolutely more than worth the price point. Arabic dial for me of course was the draw.

Vintage style Seikos go absolutely hard. I bought this one a while ago for like 75 bucks. Which is an insane bargain, considering the condition is practically brand new, and the glass is sapphire!

Citizen Tsuyosa
Orient also has a model that’s like a datejust can’t remember
Tissot for sure has a datejust lookalike

All probably around $500, make sure you get the automatic versions

out of the ones you listed, which brand/model do you think is best?

Honestly can’t go wrong with any of the 4 brands I listed. Seiko, Citizen, and Orient are all Japanese, Tissot is Swiss. Any enthusiast will be familiar with each brand, and I’d say that Seiko and Tissot are household names even for people outside of the hobby.

So I guess if you want something a little more “exotic” sounding, then Citizen or Orient would be a good choice. Overall though I’d recommend getting whichever one looks the best to you and fits your budget.
