I mean he definitely was to me

Was a huge q stan from 2014-2016. Probably my favorite rapper, i had never heard an mc as charismatic but then I realized as i got into more rap that there was a whole tradition of rappers who played with their voice

If you give Q the same level of production value and cohesion as Kendrick, Q comes out on top

They literally have the same in-house producer and connections lmao

Also, undermining the value of one album to value another on its 10th anniversary (especially when they’re friends) is weird to me

Like niggas must've not been their 2012-2014 to witness that s***, but the consensus really was that Q was the best on TDE

NIggas f***ed with Kendrick ofc, but Q??? Q was that guy at the time

Maybe during the TPAB period but there was real hits from GKMC that people were playing outside. Not some nerd music that casuals didn’t appreciate.

Oxy really did go tf up during that period though.

fr & it’s not as if they’re in competition with one another either, never got any competitive vibes like that. they have nothing but respect for one another so this makes it feel even weirder IMO

He can't do as much with it. Kendrick's core strength is how he uses someone like Ali to their full capacity as an engineer.

Q next album gonna be a classic, I can just feel it

Those 4 songs he previewed off his twitch was already better than the entirely of Crash Talk. He knew he fumbled the ball a little bit when he made that album and now he's gonna redeem himself 100%

That’s major cap. Kendrick always been the Top Dawg of Top Dawg.

It’s revisionist history to say otherwise.

Why you mad? All I did was provide a picture of the grown man calling people “nerds” for liking a rapper’s songs.

I look at it more as him displaying humbleness & showing respect tbh. he’s not knocking his own music or talent, but just recognizing how successful Kendrick is commercially and critically
