9/10 album
Playground? Lay me down? Amandla? Only if? Basement Jack?
Let the slander cease!
The Outro as well lmao, great album
I've explained myself on this site multiple times but f*** streaming. Go listen to Overly Dedicated on Spotify rn and tell me streaming services aren't ass
Been had a Kid Named Cudi on my hard drive for years, I didn't have to wait until 2022 for it to be uploaded
No ones impressed by this

Love 2 Fast too
One of steve's best songs.
I CAN USE YOUR DEEPTHROAT
Steve on DEMON TIME

Almost every artist being toxic and out of pocket on their albums this year
bro what is this GROOVE on Sunshine i'm about to break my f***ing neck
a rapper could definitely get busy over this beat. I hear Lupe
edit: Karriem Riggins credit on this one, explains it. dope
probably his best song, I can’t believe how fire this is
It was cool, much higher quality then his debut, more detail, better singing, better production etc
some of songs felt too short and some too long; felt like some of the arrangements aren’t great imo
Not a fan of his lyrical/writing style either but that’s not a big deal I guess
Overall it’s way more consistent then his debut but tbh I’m not sure if I like any song more than playground/lay me down from his last record
My favourite song on this is definitely amber; really pretty track
Steve was inspired by these two stereolab tracks imo

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbW9w7Oo6vs!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pvgfknx_vq0True. He always been a big stereolab fan. Apparently that’s how he and Ravyn Lenae connected. Very apparent in that beat switch on Gabby off ego death.

Yeah his songwriting is pretty immature, but he’s also young and his target audience relates. There were more mature moments like Amber, the outro track, and I’d even say Mercury in comparison to other songs like Bad Habit and Sunshine. I look forward to the growth, way better than Apollo and honestly is what Apollo should’ve been. This will definitely get spins from me.
give you the world gives me al green/ Pharrell vibes
I’d say whatever inspired Prototype by OutKast is similar to what inspired this song. Sing Prototype over the hook and you’ll kinda hear what I’m saying. Prob my fav song on the record.
Bad Habit is an elite song
It’s something about Foushee’ vocals that aren’t clicking wit me in general. It may just be her tone but I’m pretty sure it’s the way she “swallows” her vowels when she sings. She mumbles out her words instead of enunciating. Like wtf does she even say on the line after “I think that I wasn’t lost” on Sunshine?

Totally. I got prototype and redbone vibes from this song but they are both mainly taken from the psychedelic soul of funkadelic/parliament/sly and the like.
But theres forsure a al green vibe there aswell. defo second favourite song so far.

He’s definitely pulled from the 70s on this record. Even a lil from the 80s. There’s a song he uses the Rick James adlib but I forget the name right now.
Edit: Static 0:47 if you a Rick James fan you know that’s his trademark

I’ll have to check it out. Only heard this feat and that TikTok song that blew her up.
only complaint i have so far is Cody Freestyle. I thought that s*** was gonna explode like fireworks, but the instrumental just kinda sorta sits there
Gonna be the first Steve Lacey album I’ll listen to let’s gooo

Beat rides out too long just to end up blue balling you. If you wanna ride out a beat that long it needs to be more than a synth like that.
