They've only ever heard 7 seconds of it, how can you blame them
Also wild how you'd pay money to hear a full concert from a guy you know from a 7 second snippet
Yeah which is the only part that went viral on TikTok
The thread isn’t meant to s*** on Steve lacy or the song, I love both
But it’s a look at how bad listening habits have gotten recently, to the point that people are going to concerts just to hear one hook
i see what you did there
Yes most people only know hooks. Having the entire crowd sing a whole verse isnt the norm especially for non rap audiences
This is not true
Back in my day we studied the song lyrics before concerts. If you f***ed up a lyric in the crowd you were publicly shamed. The artist would bring you on stage and the crowd would throw rocks at you.
Wow at the show I was at everyone knew the words to literally every song
:word: word? name every lyric in Jäästä Syntynyt/Varjojen Virta by Moonsorrow
Yall paying $300 for this?
Nah this edit has me dead asf
Of course KTT gonna spin this as a bad thing though lol
this is obviously a bad thing, there's no spinning required
Nah Fr that post had some unhinged vibes. Then he said the average male wouldn’t “get away with this”
The d*** eating itt is insane
Bunch of "back in my day" ass posts
well in this case it's warranted, tik tok got niggas showing up to artists' events who dont even know the songs
there had to be an actual lacy stan that most likely missed out on those tickets
That f***ing white b**** saying “I’m sorry I don’t know the words” or something like that, in that tone of voice like she was being funny and quirky got me so heated for no reason. Like it’s not a big deal, but she just so dumb and shallow and will never see consequences for it
Also, I feel bad for Lacy more than anything else. It would be demoralizing for me as an artist to finally start packing out shows, only for people to not even care enough to know the words to my biggest song
consequences? nigga who liked this post
so we blaming this on “the tik tok era”
y’all get more creative every time
it is indeed tik tok, i see you're still doing your contrarian gimmick in each thread
I wanna see more footage of the concert when he performs older songs and how they reacted
I just wanna emphasise that’s this is/was(?) the number one song in the country, so people should know the song anyway
BUT
If you’re also paying to go to his show where this is gonna be the most popular song he plays and you don’t know the song outside the hook
You know what. I hate it when artists do this. I came here to listen to you sing. Don't make the crowd try to do the song past the chorus tbh lol
Yall paying $300 for this?
Whoever made this is foul
The d*** eating itt is insane
Bunch of "back in my day" ass posts
We s***ting on tik tok for good reason
Yes most people only know hooks. Having the entire crowd sing a whole verse isnt the norm especially for non rap audiences
this isnt even remotely true dumbass nigga
well in this case it's warranted, tik tok got niggas showing up to artists' events who dont even know the songs
there had to be an actual lacy stan that most likely missed out on those tickets
I mean I can only speak for my city, but I was at his show and everyone knew the words to basically every song. All the old ones had everyone singing along and even the deep cuts off his new album had people at least singing the hook.
I hate to be a "context?" Type of person but did this happen at the end of the song? Is this how he opened the song and people just weren't expecting to sing the whole thing? Did he do this after his 3rd song when everyone obviously knew he wasn't gonna already play it?
It seems really strange and isn't a great look for the crowd/city, but this thread is acting like the sky is falling
