When the first shot of this movie happened I legit thought I was in the wrong theater
I pulled out my phone to double check the cast ngl
This was pretty incredible stuff especially on a visual scale
Excellent self portrait filmmaking going on here especially with how it also studies the cause and effect of the allure pop culture imaging has on the viewer. The screenplay is messy but I think it has to be to allow for this subject matter to truly work
Probably the first real movie a major studio has made since 28 Years Later
I’m locked in as an Emily Blunt stan
word lmao.
such an interesting character for her.
her freak outs were wild...
Without Emily blunt this movie doesn’t at all land for me .
It doesn't land even with her but it is definitely her best performance in at least a decade
The CGI looked laughably bad at times.
I think that’s also purposeful (like with the animals) When you encounter something divine, I imagine it would be like that. It looks of the real world, but it also doesn’t. You can tell something is off
What a great year it’s been for the box office
https://twitter.com/discussingfilm/status/2066176941623836812It’s great but I sadly suspect this will get a big drop off next weekend and finish around $200 mil box office at the end and be a flop

There is some rough competition coming up
this definitely had its flaws lol (particularly in the writing department) but overall this was great. emily definitely carried this on her back
What happened to the guy who touched it? He got destroyed I guess but did he come back, reconstitute?

Thought it just made him invisible, like how Margaret made everyone invisible later in the movie. You can still see the object floating after he touches it, guess it just knocked him out as well.

Ahh ok, I guess I didn’t pick up on that lol
