You don’t think it’ll get passed?

I don't think we're getting anything. In 2008 s***loads of cash was made by buying foreclosed property and hoarding it to drive real estate prices up.

Now, an estimated 15 million Americans are facing eviction after Christmas and all congress is discussing is wall street.

My guess? This is yet another hoarding of wealth by human dragons, who have a vested interest in Americans being homeless.

No I’m saying it’s dumb to say they won’t send any more money. That doesn’t even take into account unemployment etc. what you probably meant to say is not another stimulus check, but even that doesn’t seem to be the case either

Extended unemployment is ending too. The stimulus at best will be 600$. Most likely, we won't get one at all considering Biden doesn't want to give cash out.

What makes you think a stimulus package will be released in month 9

This is the last chance to prevent a full 2008 level housing crash. 14 million American households are facing eviction/foreclosure. If congress can't get it done now, 14-28 million americans will have nowhere to go during a pandemic.

When I say "buy a gun with the 600$ check", its because the options are fighting or death for those Americans

So do you think Congress cares about Those people?

And do you think 600 In a couple of months will keep them from going homeless?

Thats my point above. Congress cares for investers, not americans. This will make real estate speculators tons of money.

600$ will not pay most American's rent. It will buy a gun. If the options are dying from exposure or covid due to being homeless; or forcibly staying at your home via armed protection, I'm taking the latter.

For context, the homeless shelter in my town infected hundreds of people with covid while the police threatened to destroy their tents in 20 degree temps. Death from covid or the elements

You can’t actually think a significant number of people are going to use stimmy money for a gun

It happened the first time. Firearm sales have been the highest ever recorded this year. Why is it weird to think it might happen again?

I don’t think the govt will send people more money ever again

They will at least this once because even McConnell realizes not doing so right now could screw him in the Senate runoffs beginning of January. And if by some crazy chance we actually get the majority, there'll almost definitely be another stimulus likely with more checks. Prolly will be over at that point though.

both sides have been making ‘offers’ but not agreeing in the house. This bipartisan deal seems like it’s going to go through. It matches what the Republicans have been wanting, and the Dems have literally said they have “something in the pot” for the state bailouts they wanted. The state bailouts is what republicans were wary about and that’s what caused the standstills.

Unfortunately they've now thrown in a last minute demand for Biden to basically be locked out from using the Federal Reserve to help the economy (like Trump has been doing since this all started) so they're back to being deadlocked. I could see a brief shutdown happening if nothing happens today quite frankly

Eh I think this will get resolved quick. Federal reserves power is in the short term helpful but in the long term a terrible thing. It needs to be trimmed at some point, also unsurprising since it’s typically always been opposed by right wing economics. Trust me, that’s not going to stop a stimulus.
