Also isn’t it completely weird that Trump wants to give us a higher amount than even Democrats?

I think what he’s doing is trying to overcompensate his last month in office, then when he runs again in 2024, is going to be saying s*** like “remember how great I was at the end it would’ve kept going if I wasn’t voted out”. Even though he knows s*** like $2k was never going to pass and just made him get good press regardless.

I guess the government should read a dang Dave Ramsey book! Discipline these old people. Or, I don't know, raise corporate, wealth, capital gains taxes, etc? Idk which. No preference really. I just want that gosh darn debt gone before America has to declare bankruptcy. That's how it works, right? No? Well nevertheless.

Exactly. Not in this situation. But then again This stimulus check drama has been unfolding since the summer. Republican Mitch McConnell put 1.8 trillion up and Nancy pelosi rejected it back in October claiming to hold out for 2.2 T.

She rejected it because she was betting they would get the house and senate in the election and quickly pass the 2.2 making the democrats look like saviors. Optics.

What she officially said was:

Pelosi has taken particular issue with the amount of money allocated to state and local governments, changes to certain tax credits, and the specifics of the legislative language related to testing, tracing, and treatment of the coronavirus.

Thanks Nancy. 0 dollars is better, you’re a regular American hero. Democrats are super disgusting too, fam, just not loud and in your face. Republicans are far worse for sure.

Trump Administration , Steven Mnuchin brought forth that 1.9 bipartisan bill that pelosi turned down

McConnell offers never went above 500bil

And the only reason why the 900bil is over 500 is because they combined it with government spending.
