You can tell truths during a manic episode that you were holding in previously. They aren’t mutually exclusive. It just may not come out in the most ideal way. You lose the filter that you’d normally have that keeps you from airing things out.

He could be saying things that he only perceives to be true in the moment because of the manic episode or he could be saying things that he’s known to be true even before the manic episode but didn’t call out publicly. Or it could be a mix of the two. We don’t know and are only spectators.
