As a favor for yourself and people's wasted time, the best thing to do is not send your music out till you're decent at what you do. Especially if you know it's trash, why did you send it? This isn't to trash anyone, I just think it's good to know when to share your music with the world.

My first songs were terrible and I didn't think i was any good until maybe 2 years in. It may take some people just one year and that's fine, but don't be in a hurry to send someone a beat when you just started out. Not worth it.

ask for it. send me somethin man i'll be glad to give it to you. just when someone is asking for a beat and you know you can't deliver, there's no point in sending it.

mm throwaways don't mean trash per say. throwaways are stuff that sound good, but the producer prolly thought it didn't meet their expectations so they scrapped it. but look man you dont have to explain yourself to me. im a nobody.

also, i found success in remaking songs. tutorials may help as well, but remaking things trains your ear differently. you don't have to do the whole song, but start out with the drums. eventually try and find the sounds they use and go from there. And you don't need omnisphere...it's a good tool but really any free vst on fl studio or ableton is fine. Ample Guitar 2 makes regular melodies sound better as well (i found a torrent for it. not bought). i just got that and made 6 samples back to back.

basically i got better at making beats after

    1. remaking beats

    2. connecting with better producers

    3. Learning how to make loops and then getting better at drums.

I'm good in the equipment and vst compartment, really got a lot of sounds I can use, just copped a lot of stuff on the Black Friday sales also. It's just that I haven't done beats in a long time.
When I used to do them earlier (like 7 to 5 years ago) I was heavy into sampling records and I produced more Boom Bap stuff. It's real hard for me to getting used to the whole trap drums, 808s and composing synth melodies, but that's where the aesthetics of the sound went the past years, also mixing and sound design has become way more important, so I'm trying to adjust to that.

im remaking s*** rn to learn how to make my favorite type of pop music

helps me understand song structure and progression. really helps train your ear too. you ask yourself okay whats this sound? how can i recreate this? which preset sounds the same and what type of processing do i need to add to get the same effect?

changing small stuff like the key and bpm its in.

learn how to produce before mixing. one comes after the other. don’t focus on too many things at once.

I wouldn’t recommend buying anything until you start making money from it. You can get any plugin you want for free easily
