Since it's the anniversary, I was thinking, why not share some memories from the period this album dropped. Any story. Your crush texted you/told you that she has a crush on you too. Or that late at night you enjoyed particularly more a certain track. Any story you like.

    I'll go first.

Ohh boy, almost 7 years ago. Adolescent me used to have this kind of habit that I procrastinated listening to new songs, felt like a chore -- instead I preferred to replay favourites. This was the case with The Hills.
I remember every time I was playing the album start to finish, when The Hills finished, and as soon as I heard those opening sounds of Acquainted I would skip immediately to the next track. CFMF.

Then one night I was in bed, The Hills finished, I thought "eh, I don't feel like changing the track, Imma let it finish playing on its own then onto CFMF" (in that moment I was that lazy lol).

Then I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the track a lot.

Today Acquainted is one of my favourite songs. I would rank three-four dozens song above it, but I like coming back to it every now and then.

PS. there are two lines where Abel disappears and Michael Jackson gets in the studio

"But ever since I met you (ever since I met you)
I couldn't beliiieeeve what you did"

I swear it's one of his most MJ sounding moments
so yeah, @Thrice you can add this to the MJ thread (wait, that's not how it works lol? it was mostly articles)

PS. The chorus is very good, very chill. "You got me touchin' on your body... You got me touchin' on your body" got me headbumping like Homer (gif in the bottom)
I really like the last chorus too,

PPS. Oh, and that nice outro (Girls Born in the 90s). About this matter, I'm really glad Abel&co. did what they did with Girls Born in the 90s. The demo I liked it more as an outro than a track. But maybe I'm biased, cause the outro is so well made, and the two leaks were obviously unfinished -- unfinished is a big word in this case, they were maybe very early drafts.

The vocals, the normal singing throughout the song, the soft, sad singing at times, the subtle piano here, instrument or production effect there, the kinda-whispering at the outro. I mean, how can I not like it, look at the production lineup, all the top dogs are there.

    Produced by:
The Weeknd, DannyBoyStyles, DaHeala, Ben Billions & Illangelo

PS. still I give it a 6 or at most a 7 out of 10

I determined "Real Life" would have been the perfect song to listen to while invading medieval castles during the 11th century.

I thought The Weeknd's voice during the 3rd verse of "Tell Your Friends" was an acoustic guitar.
