There’s a pretty sound theory that Disney cast an openly gay lead in this movie but refrained from marketing it so they could fulfill a quota but not have to ever do it again. I was just saying Disney needs to remove itself from all this political s***.

It has a gay main character, but that’s not the main reason it’s flopping. The film looks mediocre and uninspired and is getting mixed reviews from audience and critics alike. You can argue families will be upset about the gay character but the critics also not liking it says a lot. It barely got any marketing by Disney because they knew they had a stinker. Not to mention Disney shot themselves in the foot with the Pixar streaming releases and Encanto early Disney plus release. Families now know they don’t have to wait long to watch a new Disney movie at home. I don’t think it’s political to include a gay character. But they need to stop patting themselves on the back whenever they have a film with a gay lead and just let the film speak for itself.
