Sounds like it’s mutually beneficial
I think expecting/wanting streamers to approach hip-hop or any other art form tastefully is kind of fighting a losing battle as that’s kind of the opposite of what steaming is all about.
At least for the kind of streamers most of us are talking about itt
Don’t make it Dave Free!
sad to see indeed.. we should be celebrating genuine music journalism like the stuff YNS been doing more tbh
didn’t even mention Jay-Z in my post you just pulled that out of thin air to get mad
only followed up my post by giving a shoutout to Big Pun and my experience with Capital Punishment lol
I was talking to @davey about him proudly claiming he’s only a fan of Drake, not hiphop. please read how I got to my point of simply comparing something that occurs within black history as hiphop is deeper than just pro-capitalism Jay-Z, but if we can’t even speak to said individuals impact on the genre as well, then what’s the point of even discussing anything or making idk connections that relate to black people across the cultural spectrum outside of music that are also interconnected within said music? I don’t think this has to be complicated and it’s arguing just to argue a point that isn’t even the main point of the conversation
which was that nigga Dave saying he’s not a fan of hiphop on a hiphop forum
Was u not talkin about akademics an sum jayz song he didnt know about?
I could be wrong but thats why i brought up jayz

Absolutely
we probably not the right demographic either. let the kids deconstruct the past and build their own narratives. this been happening since the dawn of culture.
Adin Ross and couple of those Faze streamers wouldn’t stop talking s*** about Doechii for a song that came out in 2020 and could have easily ignored it but it’s “content”.
Everyone saying that s*** is for kids are f***ing dumb Akademics is a grown ass man Adin is a grown ass man, grown people watch these dumbasses as they inject red pill garbage into our culture. OP is 100% right

That post beef fallout lets hate Doechii for any and everything era was extremely annoying
Too many in the genre has promoted the 'do anything for money' mentality and streamers have internalised this heavy and gravitate to such artists.
Gatekeeping has been needed for a while and not just for streamers.
Streamers dont need rappers but the rappers DEFINITELY need the streamers
especially now when hip-hop is dead af outside of the top 3

Well that’s very nice of you sir

That was the most obvious paid hate campaign ever

@6:10

I honestly miss when livestreaming was all about gaming and "IRL streaming" as its known today wasn't a thing.
UStream, Justin.TV and other sites existed but mostly it wasn't people doing stupid s*** like Ice Posideon and everyone who came after him, which includes all of these different streamers that are interfacing with rap right now
